Get Involved

A well organized race requires a team of great volunteers. Volunteers are responsible for things such as race packet pick-up, marking the course, starting the race on time, directing traffic and runners, keeping the runners hydrated on the course, manning the finish line, and cleaning up after the race.

Volunteers are the backbone of any race and your assistance is critical. Volunteering doesn't take much time, so please consider volunteering for one of Second Wind's races.  You will earn 50 points towards Build a Better Second Wind and  you could win great prizes.

Volunteers are always needed to help with results at Second Wind sponsored races.  Training will be provided.

Have you been to any good (or bad) races lately?  Do you have a race to recommend? Write a race report for the Second Wind newsletter.  Email the file to newsletter@secondwindrunningclub.org.

All Second Wind Members who volunteered to help at a Second Wind Sponsored Race in 2008 received a coffee mug.  Mugs were given out at the Awards Celebration at the Urbana Civic Center in January.

2007 Race Volunteers received a Second Wind performance shirt.
